Take a day trip to Suzhou, an hour away from Shanghai. Suzhou is renowned for its beautiful gardens and canals. Visit also the nearby Suzhou Museum, designed by the famous Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei, and showcases ancient Chinese art and crafts.

Day 4: Modern Shanghai Tour

Begin the day with a visit to the Shanghai Tower, the world's second-tallest building that has become a symbol of the city's rapid development. Head up to the observation deck on the 118th floor for breath-taking views of Shanghai at dizzying heights.
